At the turn of every quarter, Melissa hosts virtual, 1-day business planning retreats where you’ll complete a comprehensive evaluation of your previous 90 days and design an intentional plan for the next 90 days.

🏔️ In-Person Event

As part of your membership, you are invited to attend an exclusive, members-only in-person workshop in Golden, Colorado. Over this three-day agenda-based Summit, we will learn, connect, and collaborate with fellow members to enhance our skills and strategies.

📆 Two Annual Calendaring Workshops

Twice yearly we will host an Annual Calendaring Workshop. During these workshops, we will be planning out the entirety of 2025, so come prepared with any relevant schedules for the upcoming year, such as school calendars or schedules for organizations or communities you’re involved with.

🌅Three Year Vision Workshop

Create a vision for the future! Where do you want your firm to be in 3 years? With some planning we can make it a reality! During this workshop we will dive deeper into our long-term goals for our firm and work backwards to shift the momentum in that direction.

💡 Sync Pods

You’ll meet 1-2 times a month with a small group of peers for roundtable discussions and accountability. These pods will rotate quarterly, offering fresh perspectives and new connections each time.

You are welcome to bring one trusted member of your firm to these calls and share all theme-related content with them.

About Your Coach

Melissa Shanahan founded Velocity Work after several years at a consulting firm focused on the growth of private practices all across the U.S. After coaching over 350 doctors, dentists, and lawyers – she chose to narrow her services to law firms only and started Velocity Work.

The host of The Law Firm Owner podcast and an extremely effective coach for attorneys running their own firms, Melissa brings her A-game to everything she does. Her energy is infectious and the material she’s teaching will forever change how you think.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When are the weekly Coaching Calls?

The weekly Coaching calls are on Tuesdays at 2pm ET / 1pm CT / 12pm MT / 11am PT.

Q: When is Strategic Planning? And what if I can't make it live?

Strategic Planning retreats are held at the turn of every quarter. This means there is one every March, June, September, and December. We plan these retreats far in advance so that you can block off your calendars ahead of time.

The next Strategic Planning retreat is on March 15th, 2023. Though we love for you to attend live, IT IS NOT A PROBLEM IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND LIVE. Here’s why:

You can watch the replay of the retreat, which is posted for members within 24 hours.
You will have plenty of support to prepare for this planning retreat.
You can attend Office Hours in the days following the retreat to get the support you need to finalize your plans.

Q: Do I really need to show up to 80% of the calls?

A: Yes – Syndicate membership requires that you make at least 80% of the calls. We understand life happens, and in those instances, we will make an exception.

Q: What is the average annual revenue of participants?

A: Our average revenue is in the $700,000 range. However, we just require a minimum of $500,000 annually to join.

Q: How many firm owners do you expect to participate?

A: This is a tight-knit cohort, so will ideally keep the group around 10-12 members. Your Sync pod groups will be smaller.

Q: What if I don't like my Sync Pod?

A: Sync pods will be changed quarterly, so you won’t be stuck with the same group for too long. Working with different people, even those you may not initially get along with, provides valuable experience and practice in collaboration and conflict resolution.
